WELCOME FROM YOUR PTSA!!
Summer/Fall 2007
Welcome to the Adventure that is Middle School! As of this fall you are all Knights and Knights families! You are also attending one of the top schools in the country, renowned for its amazing technological advancements and recipient of cutting edge programs and technology from Apple and Intel.
Our PTSA theme for the year is “KEEP CONNECTED” . That means with your child, their friends, the school and the teachers. The Middle School years are generally the separation years for many of our budding teens so we try to offer creative ways to keep up with what is happening in your students' life without smothering them! One of the best ways is to join PTSA so that you can receive our Student Directory, a valuable resource throughout the year as your students will be meeting many, many new friends that you have never heard of!
New this year we also have a website, kelloggptsa.org for you to view and we have a new monthly one-page newsletter called The Scroll that will be sent to your home or emailed to you! There is no reason any parent in our school should feel left out of what is happening at our school!
Membership in PTSA is NOT a fundraiser, your membership dues help fund and support our state and federal lobbyists who speak for all children and watchdog legislation on child welfare and education issues.
We do have a couple fund raisers early this fall. The money we make from these will pay for the afterschool activity bus entirely as well as many student scholarships, classroom grants to teachers, field trips, etc. Pass the Hat is the most important fund raiser we have and it occurs during Back to School Night. Our second event will be our Family Comedy Night on Sunday October 21, which will feature Brad Upton, watch for these events coming soon!!
